Baby Skincare: Ella Ola

That's right, it's time to begin teaching your baby the importance of skincare. lol. Really though, their skin is so thin and it's important to begin taking care of it once they're born. I first came across Ella Olla on Instagram and their packaging is what initially caught my eye.

Naturally, I went to their site, because the products were just too pretty, I needed to see more.... and then two products were ordered, lol. Before I get into the ones I use for Luna, I love that this entire line was created by dermatologists. There are three dermatologists behind every formula. There is also a pediatrician behind the brand, her name is Jennifer (Dr. Jennifer Huang).

She struggled to find baby skincare products that wouldn't irritate her baby's skin, so she created her own baby skincare products with gentle ingredients. (pretty badass, if you ask me.)

“Just like all of the other organs in their bodies, baby skin is still growing and maturing after they are born. Their skin is thin and sensitive and can react to ingredients that adult skin does not react to. When it comes to baby skincare products, the simpler the better!” - DR. HUANG

high quality, clean, & vegan.

“As a parent and dermatologist with over 20,000 appointments in my career to date, I am well positioned to advise this growing brand. Please do not use fragrance! Too many baby products have fragrance."

- DR. WANNER

“It is my passion to increase access to dermatologic care among underserved populations, which aligns well with EllaOla’s philanthropy mission. I have much experience in community outreach and working with underserved populations and can help to expand and develop the philanthropy arm of EllaOla.”

- DR. TAN

The two products from Ella Ola I've been using (& love,) are the Calming Baby Oil, Baby Face Cream and the Superfood Baby Shampoo & Body Wash.

Earlier on, I'd use the oil on Luna's stomach if she had gas, and I'd use the cream if she had any little red bumps. (She'd occasionally get them on her face and chest.) Now I mix both the oil and the cream as her moisturizer under her diaper. Aka.. no diaper rash over here! You can easily make the products work for you to combat more than one issue which I LOVE!

I also tried their Organic Bath Soak (not just for babies, but for adults too!!) and their Superfood Baby Shampoo and Body wash in one which we love. The benefits are AMAZINGG. It's SO soothing, and calming while also keeping Luna's skin smooth and moisturized. The bath soak has nourishing ingredients as well such as:

"No such thing as too safe..When it comes to the products you put on your baby's skin, the smallest things can have a big impact. That's why we thoroughly test every batch to make sure our formulas are stable, hypoallergenic and free of contaminants, heavy metals and harmful bacteria. We even test packaging compatability to make sure it doesn't alter the formula in any way. All of these are just a few of the small steps we're taking to give families greater peace of mind when seeking out gentle skincare for your little ones." - Ella Olla
